A message from Pete Elmo, President, Program Committee Chair:
You may not fully realize what you’re stepping into, my young friends. You are stepping into a role that powers the world.
AI may be a hot topic these days, but remember this: none of it works without YOU.
There is no technology, no innovation, and no progress without the electricians who build and maintain the systems that keep everything running.
You build the power plants.
You build the grid.
You wire the heart of every operation, no matter the fuel source.
You install the services and backup systems that keep facilities secure and online.
You bring power to every building — lights, HVAC, water pumps, cooling systems, outlets — everything that makes modern life possible.
And beyond that, you power the roads, the highways, the security systems, and the communication networks that keep America moving.
So I encourage you: listen closely to the instruction you’re receiving. Learn all you can. Take pride in your work. And make sure you have a reliable vehicle. This trade will take you all over America.
